A manifesto

This letter is a combination of two things: the revelation I had when I worked at Apple over 17 years ago, and the refined vision we've created after years of feedback from clients and the IT industry at large. Now up at https://foojee.com/our-story.
Dear fellow humans using a Mac at work,
Foojee was born out of a simple but frustrating reality. Business customers were walking into Apple Stores, excited to buy Macs for their teams. But once they got back to their offices, they were left facing a deep, dark void called “IT.”
Working at the Apple Store, I saw firsthand the excitement our products created. Every MacBook and AirPod set was a blank canvas for creativity, productivity, and big ideas. From design to functionality, Apple inspires our work and embodies the phrase “attention to detail.”
Apple’s software just works.
Apple’s products disappear into the background and help us enter the flow state.
Our Macs become trusted sidekicks in the pursuit of great work.
But the rest of the IT world? Clunky, complicated, and full of friction.
I watched the light dim in Apple customers’ eyes when they went from exploring their new Macs to dealing with external IT providers. Too often, IT professionals were condescending, nickel-and-diming clients, or about as pleasant to work with as a plumber at the end of a hot summer's day (no shade to plumbers; there are some great ones out there).
Enough was enough. Small businesses deserved an IT experience as inspiring as their Macs.
So I asked myself: If Apple delivered IT outside the Apple Store, what would it look like? That bold question set us on our path in 2008, and it still fuels us today as we redefine IT for small businesses across America.
At Foojee, we believe:
- IT should be delightful.
- IT should be helpful.
- IT should create calm.
- IT should enrich your culture.
- IT should secure your team while empowering them to do more with less friction.
Everyone at Foojee is drawn to making this a reality every day. We care deeply about our hiring process and look for people who are naturally compelled to do great work. As a leadership team, we're inspired to break down barriers to ensure the best ideas always win, no matter where they come from.
This is our story. This is what compels us.
We succeed when we show businesses what it feels like for IT to empower them in the same way Apple products inspire them.
After 17 years, it feels like we’re just getting started. Here’s to making small business IT effortless and fun for years to come.
Your friend and Apple ally,
